Weekly Business Development Tip
Are You Resilient?

How well do you deal with adversity? When you experience sales setbacks, failures, or disappointments, are you resilient? When you don't close the big deal, do you bounce back or are you down and depressed? Can you learn from your mistakes and the mistakes of others? Can you take these lessons and turn the next opportunity into a positive experience?

Being resilient is the ability to keep coming back, no matter how many times you don’t succeed. As a youngster, how many times did you fall off your 2 wheeler, bruise your knees get back up? We're thrown a lot of curve balls in sales on a regular basis. Some of them may bring you to your knees. How many times have you expected to close a sale, when you were heard, “we need to think it over, we’re not sure, I need to talk to my partner, we’ll talk about it and let you know?”

Do you feel like quitting sometimes? Ready to throw in the towel? Are you an optimist or a pessimist? Is the glass _ empty, _ full or overflowing with opportunity? When a setback develops, are you able to reach inside and find the self-confidence, the courage and strength you need to keep going? Are you resilient?

We are all challenged for different reasons. At one time or another, you may have asked yourself, “why is this happening to me?” Could it be that it’s time to learn a lesson, build your character, soften up, lighten up, laugh at yourself or take life less seriously?

Are you going to meet your sales goals and objectives this year or accept something less, claiming that less is good enough? Why not exceed your expectations, no matter what?

Winston Churchill said "When you are going through hell...keep going." Are you prepared to fall down 7 times and standup 8 times? Are you resilient?
